Bluestem Restaurant and the Tango Lorca ensemble unite to create a themed evening of Argentinean music, food and wine, launching Bluestem Lounge’s new monthly “Pairings” event.

Thursday, January 31, 2008 | 7:00pm | Bluestem Lounge | 900 Westport Road | Kansas City, MO 64111.  The award-winning Bluestem restaurant announces the launch of “Pairings” night.  The monthly event will take place in the Bluestem Lounge and will pair unique and intimate musical performances with selected food and wine based on the musical theme of the evening. 
The inaugural event will host a rare reunion show of the fiery Kansas City based Tango Lorca ensemble.  The evening will begin with a short presentation on the history and styles of Tango music by Beau Bledsoe, founding member of Tango Lorca.  Christine Brebes, master violinist currently living in Buenos Aires, will appear in a rare performance with the group.  Attendees will delight to Argentinean tango music and a specially prepared assortment of empanadas, shaved cured meats, Argentinean cheeses, and South American sweets. Accompanying the delicacies will be carefully selected Argentinean wines: rich, rustic, robust and sleekly sophisticated for an evening of Tango. 
Seating is limited to 50 and advance tickets are required. Tickets are $50.00 and include food, wine and the private musical performance.  Tickets are available through Bluestem only; call for information and to purchase.  Future monthly events will generally take place the last Thursday of the month and will encompass a diverse musical and gastronomic palette.  Each concert event will be a unique pairing of music, food, and wine and will take place in the intimate Bluestem Lounge.
